This Little One

Nowadays, I am constantly worrying about the welfare of this new life we are now responsible for, and, at the same time, I am trying not to be too overprotective. I've come to realize that having a new puppy is what I envision having a new baby will be like. Exhausting, yet very rewarding.

  1. Your puppy seems so sweet and quiet. Has she warmed up to her new home yet?

  2. Oh she is so, so cute! I know what you mean about that sense of responsibility and being overprotective - the day after I adopted my Charley as a kitten, I was holding her and she went a little crazy, wriggled right out of my hands, fell to the floor and then started limping about. I burst into tears and cried all the way to the vet, but she was totally fine by the time I got there (about 15 minutes later). The vet was very bemused to see me crying my eyes out over a kitten that was perfectly fine and, by that stage, practically dancing around on the bench =) He charged me anyway, lol.

  5. @ Jhan: Yeah, her crazy little puppy personality has definitely come out now that she's more comfortable in her surroundings :)

@ beautifully, suddenly: Natasha, your comments always make me smile! :) (Not the part about your kitty initially getting hurt, but by the way you are able to make certain situations seem funny in the end).

@ House of Tong: Thank you! Yeah, when we were searching for new places to live, getting an apartment that was dog friendly was definitely on the top of our list!

    @ Anonymous: Thanks :D
