Girl Date

A late lunch with Brooke today is just what I need. I sometimes end up neglecting my girlfriends because of all the other things that life occupies my time with. However, today we have made plans, and I can't want to see her again...it feels like it's been forever. Yay for girl dates!

Beach Retreat

Cool Drinks and Portable Fans

So apparently, yesterday was recorded as the highest temperature in Los Angeles...ever. This is the type of weather that calls for cool, refreshing drinks*, portable fans, and taking refuge inside our shaded apartment! Luckily, it's supposed to gradually cool down, but for the time being, I'm happy to enjoy the sun...just as long as I don't have to go outside.

Yuck

Wow Summer, thou hath unleashed thy fury here the last couple of days. You're supposed to be gone by now! I'm literally sitting here at the computer, at 7:30 in the morning...and I'm sweating. Wtf? I'm just praying for the sweet release of Autumn to come soon.

Bagels Anyone?

Ever since we went down to San Diego and had some amazing bagels for breakfast, I've been craving them again. I mean, roasted turkey, garlic cream cheese, sun-dried tomato pesto spread, red onion, and lettuce, all on a perfectly toasted bagel?? I can't even begin to describe the deliciousness. Unfortunately, there is no Bruegger's near us, so I've been trying to look up similar bagel places around us. What is your favorite yummy breakfast/bagel chain?...Maybe there's one in my area...

Morning Apples

Good Monday morning all! I'm up early because I've gotta do some work from home, and then head out to go to actual work. You're probably still curled up in your warm bed...lucky!

We have decided to take a little break from coffee too, so I don't have that convenient morning pick-me-up (although I guess there's still tea), that would be perfect right about now. In any case, have you heard that eating an apple in the morning wakes you up better (and is obviously healthier) than a cup of coffee? Interesting. Maybe I should go buy a bushel of those...

So here is the first of my Hand Picked posts (I had talked about starting this series here)! How cute are these little espresso cups? I was immediately drawn to the fonts of the text, and also, to the retro feel I got from the colors of their interiors.

Vanilla vs. Chocolate

There's something about the smell of vanilla that is just so yummy...like that little bottle of vanilla extract you use to cook with, the scent is sooo heavenly. But when it comes down to an actual taste test...chocolate wins it (for me anyways).

I've Got An Idea...
